Paying for your studies

How to access funding

You don't have to pay for your qualification up front. Pivot Point Fiji Institute is an approved provider under the Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service, and our tuition can also be paid through an FNPF education withdrawal. Most of our students use one or the other. Here's how each one works and what to have ready before you start.

Both routes begin the same way, with an offer letter from us. Apply first, then take the offer letter to TSLS or FNPF.

Option one

TSLS — Government scholarships and loans

The Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service is the Fiji Government body that funds tertiary study. Pivot Point is named in the 2026 TSLS Scholarship Policies Handbook as an eligible institution, and our current Letter of Agreement with TSLS runs to 31 January 2031.

Schemes we're eligible for

  • Skills Qualification Based on Offer Letter Scheme. The main route for our students. Covers tuition, and is means tested on combined parental income.
  • High Achievers (Skills Qualification) Local Scheme. Merit based, assessed on your Year 12 or Year 13 results. Covers tuition and the general service fee.
  • Hardship Assistance Scheme. For students who've already privately completed Year 1 of a Level 5 diploma and passed at least half of it.
  • Scholarships for Students with Special Needs. Requires endorsement from the National Council for Persons with Disabilities.

Each scheme carries a study allowance as well as tuition. Rates and criteria are set by TSLS and change every year, so check the current handbook at tsls.com.fj before you apply.

Which of our programmes are funded

The Diploma in Hairdressing Services (Level 5) and the Diploma in Beauty & Spa (Level 5) are both mapped with TSLS for 2026. If you're interested in another course, ask us and we'll tell you where it stands.

How to apply

  1. Apply to us and get your offer letter. TSLS won't assess an application without a confirmed offer letter from the institution. A provisional one isn't enough.
  2. Register at tsls.com.fj. Click Apply Online, sign up with your own email address, then verify your account from the link they send you.
  3. Update My Account and choose your scheme under View Programs.
  4. Work through each task and click Mark as Complete as you go.
  5. Accept the declaration and submit. Your status moves to Processing under My Application.

What to have ready

  • Your confirmed offer letter from Pivot Point
  • Final Year 12 and Year 13 results, or a recognised equivalent
  • Birth certificate and evidence you're a Fiji citizen, ordinarily resident for at least three years
  • Parent or guardian income details, for the means tested schemes
  • Your bank account or mobile wallet details
  • Your highest educational attainment

Upload each document as a PDF, PNG or JPG under 5MB. Late or incomplete applications aren't assessed, so check the closing date before you start. TSLS can be reached on 8921240 or at mytsls@tsls.com.fj.

Option two

FNPF — using your own superannuation

If you or someone in your family has an FNPF account, you can apply to withdraw from the General Account to pay tuition. It can be used for the member, their spouse, children, siblings or parents, so a parent can fund a child's course and someone already working can fund their own.

How to apply

  1. Apply to us and get your invoice. FNPF pays tuition straight to the institute, so the invoice has to come from us.
  2. Complete form EW01, the Education Partial Withdrawal form, in pen and in block letters.
  3. Get your copies certified by an FNPF officer, a Justice of the Peace or a Commissioner for Oaths.
  4. Lodge it at an FNPF office. Local education withdrawals are processed in about three working days.

What to have ready

  • Your completed EW01 form, signed and witnessed
  • Our invoice confirming your fees
  • A certified birth certificate, and a marriage certificate if your name has changed
  • Evidence of your relationship to the student, if you're applying for a family member
  • Enough in your General Account to cover the fees

FNPF funds tuition for the previous year and the current semester or trimester only, so apply in the term you're studying rather than for the whole course at once. Forms and current rules are at myfnpf.com.fj.

Not sure which one fits?

Tell us where you're up to and we'll walk you through it. Either way the offer letter comes first, so that's the thing to sort out now.
