Giving back

Students and educators at the Golden Age Home, Lautoka

Our students learn by doing, and some of that doing happens where it is needed most.

Every student at Pivot Point trains on real clients. Models come to our campuses for free services, which is how students build their hours and their confidence. We also take those services to people who cannot come to us.

In September 2015 a dozen staff and students spent a day at Lautoka Hospital giving haircuts, manicures and colour to patients and nurses. We went back in 2018 at the request of the Director of Nursing. In August 2016 senior students and educators visited the Golden Age Home in Lautoka with haircuts, colour and hand and foot treatments for the residents. In September 2025 the team spent the day at St Giles Hospital in Suva.

We call them pamper days. For a patient or a resident it is an hour of being looked after and a reason to smile. For a student it is a reminder of why this work matters: it is not only about fashion, it is about making people feel like themselves.
